WebThis is a bad idea. The AI will besiege a castle/town with less garrison. Even if it's remote far away. Having less can help you be on the ballot for new fiefs, so it can be a good idea, especially if you have fief in a better position where you will likely be expanding, to give away fiefs in bad locations you're not interested in.
